Aurora

Aurora Aksnes (born June 15 1995, at Stavanger) is an Norwegian music producer and a vocalist. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves is released in May of 2015 by Decca Records. It has been praised by the music press and bloggers. Half the World Away - by Oasis is a cover for John Lewis' Christmas ad as well as Nature Boy - by Nat King Cole is already two covers worth noting that the singer has created. The singer gained further attention via a blog post from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed the song Runaway. Make it a day to celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes' first musical moment was when she stumbled across a miniature piano hidden in the basement and being fascinated at the sound it made. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged her to learn music not to get a job or a hobby and as a way to grow. So she started writing her own songs. As well as Bjork, she cites Leonard Cohen as an influence. The singer decided to perform the songs she wrote publicly after her mother said they can help other people, not gain acclaim for her work, but instead help the people around them understand the importance of their work and how they could impact the world. Piano was her first instrument at the age of six, and she started creating music after turning nine. She didn't tell her family about her musical journey until she was 14. Aurora was not a goal. Her sole passion is writing music. According to her music, it is the most effective means of communicating anything.
